What to decide before you print

Three things change the price and the feel more than anything else. Paper weight, because a newsletter that flops in the hand reads as junk mail and one that holds itself reads as something worth keeping. The fold, because that decides what someone sees first when it comes through a door, and a lot of newsletters waste that panel on a logo. And whether it’s going in the post, since anything being mailed has to fit the postal size bands, and missing a band by a few millimetres costs more than the printing does. Get those three right and the rest is straightforward. If you’re not sure, describe who’s receiving it and what you want them to do, and you’ll get told which combination makes sense rather than handed a list of options to choose between.
