Annual report printing

What makes an annual report expensive to print?

Usually the binding, the paper and the fact that nobody asked the printer before designing it.

You get the printing quoted properly against what you actually need, with the choices explained rather than assumed. Design too, if the file isn’t ready.

Where the cost in an annual report really sits

Page count drives more of the price than anything else, and page count is decided at layout, not at print. A report designed without asking the printer usually lands on an awkward number of pages, which means paying for a part-empty section. Binding is the next lever. Stitched is cheaper and lies flat at lower page counts; perfect binding looks more substantial and costs more, and below a certain thickness it will not hold anyway. Then paper, where the difference between a decent uncoated stock and a heavy silk is visible in the hand and modest on the invoice, so it’s usually the wrong place to save. Get those three settled before the design is finished and the same document can come in noticeably cheaper without looking any cheaper, which is the whole trick.

Questions people actually ask

Can you print a file we’ve already designed

Yes. It gets checked for bleed, colour and fonts first, and you’ll be told what needs fixing before it goes on press rather than after.

Can you design it as well

Yes, and it usually ends up cheaper to print, because the layout gets built around what the press wants.

Do you only work with Somerset businesses

No. Annual reports are handled for organisations anywhere. Most of it happens by email regardless of where you are.

What will it cost

Depends what you want, so ask. Ring 01823 242424 or email info@reor.co.uk, tell us what you need, and you get a price. One job, one price, done.
