What goes into a stationery printing set

The point of a set is that nothing looks borrowed. Same logo position, same colours, same paper family, so a letterhead, a compliment slip, and a card sitting on somebody’s desk read as one firm rather than three. Letterheads want paper your office printer can actually pull through, which rules out some of the heavier stock people fall in love with. Compliment slips do the job a letter is too formal for, and they get used far more than anybody expects once they exist. Envelopes are worth printing if you post anything that matters, because a plain white one gets opened last. Cards can go heavier, since nobody’s feeding those through a laser printer. Leave room on the letterhead for terms on the back, and check your phone number twice, because reprinting a whole stationery run over one wrong digit is a miserable morning.

Of course. The set is only worth doing in one go if you need it all in one go, and there’s nothing stopping you adding compliment slips or envelopes later on.

Will the printer at work handle it

It should, if the paper gets picked with that in mind. Tell us the make of your office printer and the stock gets chosen so your letterheads don’t jam it.

Can you design it as well as print it

Yes, and both happen in the same building, so the artwork is built for the press it’s going on. Already got a logo? It gets worked to, not quietly redrawn.
